Safety is more than a set of rules.

Gun owners must accept personal responsibility for self-education and for teaching others about safety. All Facility users MUST adhere to posted rules. Failure to do so may result in eviction from the premises and/or revocation of user badge. The following is a list of major Facility rules. Users are expected to familiarize themselves with ALL rules and strictly adhere to them. These rules were designed for the safety of the Facility users and the public alike.

 

  • A Range Officer employed by the Department of Recreation and Parks shall be in complete charge at all times. The Range Officers decision and or discretion is final in all cases.
  • All Class 3 weapons are prohibited. 
  • All firearms must be unloaded and in a carrying case to enter the property and Facility.
  • Two firearm limit.
  • Any person who enters the facility with a loaded firearm will be ejected.
  • No more than 2 persons to a lane.
  • Only one person allowed at shooting station at any time. All other persons should remain behind the yellow line.
  • Upon a call of “cease fire”, all shooters must stop shooting immediately and empty all firearms, magazines out, slides back, actions open.
  • Targets shall be changed only after an “all clear” from the Range Officer.
  • DO NOT leave any firearms unattended.
  • Firearms must be kept open, and magazines removed at all times when not in use. When handling any firearms, muzzles shall be pointed in an upward position with the action open and magazines removed.
  • A loaded firearm must be kept pointed down range at all times.
  • In the event of a misfire, keep the firearm pointed downrange and alert a Range Officer.
  • Eye and ear protection MUST be worn at all times while on the firing line.
  • Your firing line position and target position must correspond. Angle firing is not permitted on any range.
  • There must be at least a 2-second delay between each shot.
  • When the line is cold, no firearm may be handled.
  • No open-toed shoes allowed.
  • Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited. 
  • Persons suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, or any other depressant or stimulant, at the discretion of any range officer, will not be permitted to use the Facility. Law Enforcement will be called if necessary.
  • No pets are allowed on the premises with the exception of service animals.
  • No smoking or e-cigarettes are permitted on the firing line or in any structure at the facility.
  • No littering. Individuals or groups using the Facility are responsible for keeping the area clean. This includes policing the area of brass.
  • Shooting shall be with paper targets only on our stationary frames.
  • I.D. may be required.
  • Any persons caught shooting at or shooting a baffle or post will be ejected from the range.

 

Ammunition/Load Limitations
  • Handgun/rifle calibers are not to exceed 50 calibers, with the exception of black powder. At pistol range all black powder must be kept on the lower shelf.
  • Military tracer and armor-piercing rounds shall not be used.
  • BMG’s are not allowed.
  • Shotguns must be fired with rifle slugs only. All Shotguns must have front sight and rear adjustable sight or scope.
  • No green tip 5.56 allowed.
  • No BB or airsoft guns are allowed.

 

Rifle Range
  • At Rifle lanes persons under 21 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by a paying adult (age 21 and older) at all times.
  • You must be 21 years of age or older to supervise any other persons under the age of 21.
  • All Mosin Nagant rifles shall be loaded with one round at a time, no exceptions.
  • A firearm shall be loaded only on the firing line (with the exception of muzzleloaders see range officer for specific instructions).

 

Pistol Range
  • At Pistol lanes persons under 21 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by a paying adult (age 21 and older) at all times.
  • At Pistol lanes, place paper targets BELOW RED LINE on target board.
  • At Pistol lanes, do not move ahead of the firing line for any reason.
  • Holstering of firearms or drawing from the holster is not permitted, no exceptions.
  • No rifle calibers or rifles are allowed to be shot on the pistol range. No exceptions.
